Dungeon Hunters
A downloadable game for Windows
Disclaimer: take this with a huge grain of salt as this was a part of a high school project and also my first game ever. Consider this a proof of concept (prototype). Extremely unbalanced.
Huge thanks to iskall85 and his team for the Minecraft modpack Vault Hunters which served as the main inspiration for this project.
Current goal is to collect 25 artifacts from completing dungeons and submitting them in the Temple. Updates coming soon (this decade (hopefully)). Also check out vault hunters.
Dungeon Hunters is an RPG dungeon-crawler where the goal of this game is to explore and complete as many dungeons as possible.
Dungeon is a scary and deadly, randomly generated realm full of monsters and wonderful loot. But monsters aren't the only hazard in here; you also have to fight against time. You may stay in this realm for up to 25* minutes but no longer, otherwise you'll be locked up in this place for eternity (well... until you respawn).
These dungeons can be modified with modifiers. You can obtain these modifiers from market or you may get it as a reward in the dungeon. Besides modifiers, there's much more you can obtain in the dungeon as a reward such as gear pieces, scraps, repair kits, enhancement orbs, void orbs, potions, coins and the most important of all: artifacts!
You need to collect 25 of those to complete the puzzle and the goal of this game. Collect all 25 pieces, complete the puzzle and open the final dungeon. The final dungeon differs from ordinary dungeons. This is a test of your knowledge and experience you've collected during your playthrough. To reach the end of the game, you'll be assisted by 4 gods.
These gods may bless you with unique skills and abilities that will ease your journey through the game. Each god has its skill branch which can be unlocked with skill points. You get 1 skill point every time you level up. Each god also represent and archetype: a special ability that defines your playstyle (archetypes are limited by 1 per player).
Gear piece - Armor (Helmet, chestplate, leggings, boots), weapons (Sword), artifacts (Crown, necklace, bracelet, ring); Gear pieces are unidentified at first and can roll into 5 rarities (Common, uncommon, rare, epic and legendary) with proceduraly random base stats, they are also rolled with a number of enhancement slots and repair slots
Metal scraps - Can be used to make new gear pieces (except for artifacts)
Enhancement gem - Can be used to enhance a gear piece; gives 1 random enhancement from pool and fills 1 enhancement slot
Void gem - Removes a random enhancement and refunds an enhacement slot
Repair kit - Can be used to repair a gear piece, fills 1 repair slot
Modifiers - Applies a positive and a negative modifier to a dungeon
Potions - Heals the player
Coins - Can be used to buy services
Souls - Can be used to buy items, obtained by killing enemies
Artifacts - Pieces of the final puzzle, 25 are needed in order to open the final dungeon (goal of the game), has a low chance to be obtained as a reward from completing normal dungeons
Skills - Change player's statistics
Abilities - Can be used in-game, gives advantage against monsters
*Time may vary with talents and dungeon modifiers
